CHALLENGE:
Patagonia is an American outdoor clothing company that takes pride in its sustainability and fair labor practices. We were challenged with differentiating the brand for reducing their environmental and social impact.
SOLUTION:
To create usable wool, massive amounts of energy, water, and chemicals are needed after the sheep is shorn. However, Patagonia uses a process called garnetting, which takes discarded wool scraps, which are then shredded into usable fibers. We emphasized the decrease in toxic emissions, landfill waste, and, the number of animals getting fleeced.
