CHALLENGE:
Save the Children is an international non-governmental organization that helps support the well-being of children in the United States and over 120 other countries. A large problem today is the outstanding number of child soldiers worldwide; over 300,000. Some of these children are under the age of 10. We were challenged with drawing attention to this travesty and promoting donations to help Save the Children work to integrate child protection into every humanitarian response.
Copy: It is estimated there are 300,000 child soldiers worldwide. Many are used as live bait. They may be strapped with weapons or explosives and sent to opposing troops. Children as young as 10 are used as spies, informants, and bomb planters. Save the Children is working to integrate child protection into every humanitarian response. We are also monitoring and reporting violations to provide necessary action and protect our children.
SOLUTION:
By creating an unsettling print campaign that dramatized the normalcy of child soldiers in these regions, we were able to draw attention to the way these children are taken advantage of in order to provide necessary action to protect our children.
